Blurred Lines

I know you want it
You know I want it
Damn
Situations
Got us both feening
Damn
Relations
We both maintain with great people
But Fuck they greatness
Fuck they stations
Fuck they motives
Fuck they straightness
I'm tryna bend that back
To the tune of my dick
Smack
That ass
Crack that whip
Inevitability ain't the word
We both see the signs
Let's stop fighting
Accept these blurred lines

I know you want it...

Flowers Aren't For Everyone

Flowers Aren't For Everyone

Yall twenty something women
Who tear something away
Every time you break down
A twenty something dude
Who proved to be a fool
Oops
He thought he'd wife you
Oops
You thought that was the thing to do
Till shit got real and you proved
You bout as ready as chicken breast
20 minutes cooked
Perception is everything
On that block you been around
Had that man thinking
Despite all that
You'd hold him down
He knows he not perfect
So he maked excuses
While you on the block
Letting hotboys taste your juices
He just wanted to give you something
Of substance
Show you a man could be constant
Reliable true
A few nicks here and there
But still a good dude
But in the true fashion of a basic woman
You wanted more
After he gave you some
Now he tells us

Flowers Aren't For Everyone

Spirit Bomb

Young him
Younger her
Dashing
Photogenic
Popular
Good rhetoric
His spell on her
Passionate
Rediculous
He graduate
Says he wait
Make a mountain of happiness
So they can escape
She promise mom she'd finish school
But he in the army
So after high school she gone just like that
Smooth
Stationed in paradise
He showers her with ambrosia
Fruits of the gods
Everything she need
Teach her to drive
He give her free
Doom and gloom she persists through
While he in the field doing his duty
He come home
Smiling
she tells him
Our two will be three
As she rubs her belly
Elevated ethereal feelings
Endorphins flowing from them they poured
That's when she said
Our three will be four
16 months after he felt like his blessings
Were done
Along with a daughter she gave him
A son

Spirit bomb

His daughter
Daddys girl
Follow him everywhere
She drink from his cups
His son
The namesake
He scrape his knee
Told to stand up
Strong
Hold ya head up
Never wrong
Be proud
No other bond could compensate
To the one who shared his name
In the boys eyes he knew held his ultimate vice
Then
Then the sun set in paradise
His tenure fulfilled he earned his way home
Family in tow
Along with his service
It seemed
their happiness was gone

Spirit bomb

Ragged wenches she curses out
His infidelity
Her misunderstanding
His arrogance
Her shaking the past in his face like a wet rag
His repeated attempts at repentance resembling perpetual resentment toward what was his right hand
Now it's bland
Back to back in the bed
Back to back missed movie nights
He struggling
She strangling tugging wrangling
He weeping shamefully wishing he could take it all back
She love him
But not like she used to
Files for divorce papers on baby girls first day of school
Now he reeling restless revealing how he can't be without his kids
Through the sting of fire tears
His pleas she listens
He speaks she bears witness
But all she can hear is what he told to his mistress
As he laid with her
Rubbed her back and whispered to her
Like he does with me
She thinks
All she can hear is the crack in her heart as it falls out of place
So close to the sun
wings of wax
Felled from grace

As the saying goes
she heard what she hear
He shamefully accepts
The fruits of his labor
What he'd done....
Because at this point
her heart
Deserted
Cold
Numb

Spirit bomb

Flowers (RIP GrandMom)

And all I can remember now
is what he told me about flowers
Flowers
Hey son
Make sure you give them flowers while they are there to receive them
Funny
When he first said it I was too young to believe him
Simplistic mind with thoughts of power Rangers and ninja turtles
couldn't perceive him
As a child you don't understand mortality until it walks up and slaps you in the face
And then he would say
things like slow down and enjoy life because it is not a race
Good old dad
Always there with the perfect thing to say
Always there to show me the way
And now a piece of him is gone
A piece of us so strong
Sitting up there with poppy
As he says "Mary pass me a cold one"
There is much to say about a greeting with a smile
And I never entered her presence without seeing that look in her eye...
pride
Through trails and tribulations
Life's many lessons
That she so gracefully tried to teach
She never stopped telling me that there was no goal that I couldn't reach
You're smart baby, just do your best
No doubt you have what you need to pass this test
Now she rests
And I'm just...
Thankful
Because I got to give her flowers
sure as the sun sets in the west
We were all blessed
To know her
To hear her stories
Taste her food
Come to think of it
That was her true joy
Nourishment
Feeding stomachs, souls, minds
Every part of your frame
She always seemed to have a plate in the fridge waiting every time I came
when I was younger I used to think there was magic in those forks and spoons
But now I see the love of a grandparent
The true definition of soulfood
feeding me wisdom, spirit, and pride
Knowing she was there every time I cried
Having a warm pillow to rest my head
A gentle reminder to be grateful for all the things that I had
A loving family, a roof over my head
How all these blessings I have a handful
And I'm just...
Thankful
That I got to give her flowers
And it's funny
He always used to say "make sure you give them flowers when they're there to receive them"
As a child I was to young to believe him
With thoughts of pokemon cards and chicken wings, just couldn't perceive him
Good old dad
Always there with the perfect thing to say
Always there to show me the way
But now to comfort him what do i say?
Which direction do I point him?
Which way?
I don't know
Such wisdom in life has yet to find me
What do I do?
I'll do what I see
Live to bring honor, to myself and my family tree
Make sure that she'll always be proud of me
And when the time comes for me to see G
I'll walk through the gates
With a bouquet of flowers
And give them to grandma Mary

Use Your Words

God gave us words
So I use them
He gave us language
Communication
A means of elaboration
We used to have grunts
Points
Voice inflections
The only method to ask mom for protection
Then
God gave us words
A method of speech specializing in specifying
And once we get good at that
He gave us pens
Or as I call them
Swords
Cuz see the levels here are apparent
So we all start as babes
Eyes wide
Mouth agape
Watching learning listening turning
No wisp of knowledge finds escape
Until we absorb enough to speak legibly
So
Why as grownups
So many of us have trouble talking?
Use your words
Use your words
Tell me your vision of the world
Tell me your favorite book
No one furthers by your silence
Unless your silence falsely perpetrates the perception of your intelligence
In that case
Spare me your words
Show me your actions
But as I write this
I can't help but look back at the times
Peoples actions betrayed me for lack of consistency
With mediocrity people seem content
So what's the equivalent?
What's the mixture?
the solvent?
Can we ph balance our actions and words
So that the actual message is conveyed
So that the feelings involved are never betrayed
Cuz through the bullshit I stayed
With you
Not knowing where we stood
I stayed
With you
Not knowing if my efforts would ever find reward
My love for you cursed me to stand in a room alone night after night
I stayed
Even though you were present by my side
So which hell is worse?
True loneliness
Or the one in which your presence is the boniest
Form of your self
I stayed
Wishing night after night
You would use your words
Use your words
I can't take back what happened
But there was wrong on both sides
Why am i the one who's trying
I used my words
Balanced my actions
I'm here
Further pain we both fear
But the prospect of a future that matches up with our past aspirations
Through our faulty actions
Past the misery we caption
Is simply too tantalizing
So
I'll stay
With you
And use my words
Until you begin to use yours
Again

Passion

I passionately dislike those without passion
Like
How do you live?
What drives you?
Something in you don't spike at the sight
Of something you want?
You don't get that feeling in the pit of your gut?
Actions and the way they transpire doesn't fuel your desire
To conquer?
Damn
That's a sad sight to see
Or maybe
It's a part of you that you just don't show
To me?

Rebel Spirit

I grew up a good kid
Honor rolls
No arrests
Never stole
Tried not to give mom's much trouble
Caught up with power Rangers
Sonic
Ninja turtles
Kiddie shit
Small Apartments
Beginnings humble

So if asked I wouldn't recall
Where this attitude came from
I grew up
Watching movies with Quincy and Monica
Simba and Nala
Got caught in my sentimens
With Nina and Darius
And these are love stories
So I'm not sure where it developed
The rebelliousness

Pops was in the army
Taught yes and no ma'am
Spent a few summers in Coatesville
With my old man
Gave me structure
And a reason to have reasons
Learned the love of chess from my uncle and cousins
And to appreciate the pieces
Losing was death
Or the equivalent of nothing

Around here I heard a saying
Happiness is the pleasure of the ignorant
But still I kept learning till the smell of knowledge grew repugnant
Therein lies the issue
Education been misused
I've been down that yellow brick road and back again
Birthing not a rebel
But a contrarian
