i stand surrounded by those who dont know power is knowledge
and if they do know they find more important things to do in college.
frantically i pace
i search
i race
for the remedy to the scenario
that keeps the minds of my peers so finite
so closed
frustrating
the hypocrisy
they'll attend forums
speak down on the acts that they make so renown
i cant stomach the fickleness of actions that clearly they moms would frown

dont get me wrong
perfection and i are polar opposites
but
in a way we are also polar composites
i strive for it
change my ways
from my past
i hide for it
become the best man
taye diggs
i write for it
immersed with carbon copies
light a fire
i ignite for it
the polar composite of perfection
sometimes i feel
i am alive for it

but im still trapped
confused
spiritually abused
confounded
at the idiocy of my peers and campus residents
where the biggest party promoter
gets more respect and adoration
then SGA president

i try to change things
three years ive been struggling
but the hypocrisy holds me back
bounded
chained
irrevocably restrained
by these people who are at college to have fun
not feed their brains
or follow their dreams

and they seem to claim all these things
but whats the old saying?
actions speak louder than words
or bullshit u may bring

at times i myself am guilty
of being lazy
letting people be people
if they are happy, why should i interfere

or that was the logic

but i feel ripe these days
like a two week old banana thats had better days
i see light these days
these kids so trife these days
drake thinks he too young to feel this old
i think they too old to act that young

to me, college isnt about getting young money

its bout learning the skills you need
grinding
applying
properly planning
so that after all the turmoil

the hard work
form class to class
place to place
city to city
they can look at an empire

the quick is easy

you see the rewards
but i blame the media
cuz they dont show the work these artists and anybody who ever succeeded
put into this

their craft
you think all jay z ever did was get high and start to spit?
you dont think drake spends hours listening to other cats
and thinking of different ways to do this shit?
you dont think people like ben carson
oprah
steve harvey
micheal jordan
didnt have
at one point,
an easier alternative?

chicks see they man with ice during foreplay
and think trey came up with it

the point is
somebody always laid the foundation for the things yall think are so prevalent
and im not an angry nigga
